STEM Cell Surgery~ A Chance to Walk Again

Hello everyone, we are Krystal Cozier and Vanessa Fofie from Toronto, Canada. We are asking for your donations to help our best friend and brother Jeffrey to receive a STEM cell surgery abroad; which he currently needs in order to regain the mobility in his lower body.
Here is Jeffrey’s Story
On October 18th, 2016 at approximately 5pm, Jeffrey and a passenger were on their way to the gym. Still close to home, they came to a stop sign, at which time, they were approached by another car parallel to the driver’s side. Not more than a couple seconds after being approached, the other vehicle opened fire on Jeffrey’s vehicle. Both Jeffrey and the passenger were left on the road to fight for their lives. Soon after, they were rushed to the hospital in critical condition and had to receive multiple surgeries.
Sadly, the passenger did not make it.
Jeffrey suffered a ruptured lung and a shattered spine.
Since then, Jeffrey has recovered from some of his more minor injuries, but unfortunately none of the surgeries could help his spine. The doctors then told him that because of the impact to his spine, he would no longer be able to walk. He spent several months in a rehabilitation center to help recover and learn how to adjust to his life in a wheelchair. He has since been able to do various daily routines by himself but still endures a lot of physical pain, and is subjected to the affects of mental trauma associated with the accident.
How can you help?
In order to obtain mobility in his legs again, Jeffrey would need to undergo STEM cell surgery. Unfortunately, this surgery is not offered in Canada, meaning that he would have to go abroad to be able to receive it. We have estimated between $80,000- $100,000 CAD for the procedure, which also includes the flight and stay, depending on how long the whole process will take.
We have not been able to come up with this total to assist him with the chance of getting the surgery. The longer he waits, the less chance he has of it being successful.
Jeffrey is a kind, caring and loving father of 2 young boys aged 8 and 9. Not being able to walk had put a strain on how he is able to provide for his boys mentally and physically.
Before this accident, he was very athletic and extremely hard working.
If you were able to give a loved one the opportunity to have the life that they once had or an even better one, would you?
We took it upon ourselves to reach out to you all to ask for help. He did not want to himself because is a very humble individual but he really wants to receive the surgery.
He has his whole life ahead of him and we just want to make sure that he has every opportunity to continue to be a great father, brother, son and friend. Help us, help him!
