Hi, my name is Brie and I am Nathan's sister.

On March 1st of 2020, I got a phone call saying that Nathan had been airlifted to the hospital because he had been in a motocross (dirt bike) accident and couldn't feel his legs. He went into surgery and we found out that he burst his T10 vertebrae, broke the T11, had 3 broken ribs, punctured both lungs and was paralyzed from the waist down.

For the next several months he went through many surgeries not only to straighten out his back but also for the wounds that developed because of a poor-fitting wheelchair. He was supposed to go to multiple rehabs but has only been able to get through one because of the wounds.

The wounds have made it a challenge for him. He struggled to heal contracting staph infections, MRSA, and having multiple surgeries to clean them out. He has had skin graphs to give the wounds the best possible chance to heal.

As he has been dealing with his wounds for the last few years, he has noticed some different sensations in his legs that he couldn't feel before. This gives everyone hope that maybe stem cell could not only help his body recover but enable him to walk again, that is the goal!

It has been three years since his accident and not only has he been through all the medical things mentioned above, but he has also moved multiple times, lost a loved one, been supported by Charis and his family and friends, and is fostering a baby boy!
