Hi, my name is Stellen Van Pelt, an Animal Science major attending a University of California, student rehabber, conservationist, and lifelong wildlife advocate. I have dedicated my life to the care of animals, currently keeping and caring for over 70+ exotic species while also stepping in to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary for those in need.
Our work focuses mainly on domestic exotic rescues, giving homes to reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, small mammals and birds that can no longer be cared for by their original owners or neglected/abused/abandoned pets, while also helping injured wildlife by transporting them to licensed rehabilitation clinics for medical care. Many of our permanent residents are handicapped exotics who require long-term care, special housing, and lifelong veterinary support.
Between veterinary bills, food, enrichment, and rehab expenses, the cost to maintain this level of care averages us at minimum around $5,000 per year. Every dollar raised will directly help cover medical expenses, specialized diets, and the supplies needed to keep our permanent resident animals healthy and thriving.
If you’d like to support in other ways, we’ve also created an Amazon Wish List to ensure the animals receive the love they deserve.
Your support means the world, not just to me, but to every animal whose life is saved, enriched, and cared for through this rescue. Thank you for helping us continue to make a difference.
In honor of Dodo 10/5/24-10/26/25 ️
