Having just completed her Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies at the University of Oregon (UO), Stella Bishop served as President for the University Film Organization (UFO) and is now an emerging and very active filmmaker. Filling the roles of writer, director, cinematographer/DP, AD, PA, editor, and/or sound/post engineer, she has helped production teams complete 36+ film projects in the last four years, independently, educationally, and professionally.
In the summer of 2023, Stella attended the intensive hands-on filmmaking workshop at UCLA Film & Television Summer Institute, where she was selected to be the DP on one set and the audio mixer and boom operator on the other. She worked 14-hour days on these projects, but to her, it didn’t feel like work. In the end, she earned an A in all four of the program’s accredited classes.
In the summer of 2024, Stella attended the UO Cinema Studies in Dublin, an immersive study abroad program, where she lived with a local Irish family while taking Irish Cinema and Film Production classes at the Institute Of Art, Design & Technology (IADT) in a suburb of Dublin, Dún Laoghaire. She dove into the culture & experience, including Ireland’s largest film festival, the Galway Film Fleadh.
In the fall of 2025, Stella is planning to begin earning her Master's Degree at London Film Academy (LFA), in an intensive and all-inclusive film school production program in the Fulham neighborhood of London. This summer, she is working to earn savings for her everyday expenses (rent, food, transport) during the one-year period of study, and is asking for your help to aid in her efforts to finance the endeavor.
Stella is inspired by films like Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which blends history, culture, and music into a thrilling masterpiece of skill and innovation, and Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which challenges modern life goals, asks the audience to venture beyond their urban lifestyle, and to keep their imagination wild. Stella is passionate about experiencing life to the fullest. She is constantly learning and finding inspiration from her friends, colleagues, and the world around her, and she works hard to share those experiences with others. Movies have positively impacted her life since childhood, and she would be grateful for your help in gaining the skills to master this craft and pay it forward.
Thank you for your consideration.
