Stella,Blanchey,Boogie,BUTT. (The cutest butt in the whole world)
On Tuesday, Stella was walking at the park with her brother Gizmo and she was happy as can be. By Wednesday, she was still tired from her walk. By Thursday, she was melting into the bed with a 105+ fever.
We spent about 48 hours back and forth with the vet. Her red blood cells and her platelets were diminished. The doctors prescribed steroids and her platelets went up, but her red blood cells have gone down to a dangerously low level.
Our vet referred us to the doggie ER, with a prognosis of 'This is your last hope'. We took her to the ER and told them no blood transfers without a good prognosis. We had accepted her fate as we couldn't spend the money with a 30% survival rate. On our way to the ER we began to sob and say our initial goodbyes, all while pondering the cost of life.
Then, the miracle happened. Stella was confirmed to be IMHA, which has led to severe anemia. The vets have improved her prognosis to 90% if she gets a blood transfusion, which means we will spend whatever it takes to get her healthy.
We can buy Stella a few more years, which would mean the world to us as she is the glue that keeps our family together. She is our unofficial service dog and she keeps both of our mental health issues at bay. She must have the transfusion to survive. We have taken out a loan without a clue of how to repay.
Everyone who has met Stella knows just how special this little magic doggie is. The transfusion and 2 night hospital stay will cost roughly $5,000 with several months vet visits, blood panels, medication and babysitting. But she WILL RECOVER if we can get this done.
We thank you for ANY HELP you can provide. If you can, please donate.
We love you all and we are blessed to have the support system that we have. We will use all the emotional and financial resources you can prove. Thank you for your support. We love you all and Stella Blanche loves you too.
Love, Ethan and Stacey
