Support Stella's Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Natasha and I am the daughter of an amazing, strong and incredible women named Stella Oliphant.
At the beginning of this year my Mother was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the 2nd time in 4 years. She was supposed to have a PET scan at the end of December 2018 and if it came back negative would have been considered cancer free. Unfortunately before the PET scan even occured she began having pains and found an inflamed lymph node. It was finally determined that she was within a small 10% of people that do get the same cancer again.
This time around they had to take a completely different approach with her treatment. They started with ICE chemotherapy and are now moving forward with Stem Cell Transplants. The reason for the transplants is to save the stem cells. The high dose of chemotherapy she will have to go through would permanently destroy those cells and their main function is to reproduce and repair. So removing them before this high dose of chemotherapy allows them to place them back into her system once the chemotherapy is finished.
Starting on March 25th this process will begin and not be completed until the end of May. Starting that week she will go through her third round of ICE chemotherapy. Then the following week they will start Stem Cell Mobilization for around 2 weeks. This will prep her stem cells so that that following week they can begin the Apheresis Stem Cell Collection. This will take anywhere from 1-5 days depending on how many stem cells they can remove during each session. They will attempt to remove 3 to 5 million stem cells, which will then be frozen. We will be able to spend Easter together as a family and then on Monday April 22nd she will begin a very high dose of chemotherapy.
During this time we will have to stay very close to Albany Med and need to stay in a hotel around the corner for about a month. She will go through high doses of chemo for 5 days and the following Monday the Stem Cell Reinfusion will begin. During this time she will be recovering and letting the Stem Cells get back into the process of reproducing. It will take about 7-14 days to get back into her bones and then she will be able to go home. During her long term recovery she will not be able to leave home for about 3 to 4 months.
For the duration of this process my Step Dad Jeff and myself will be living in Albany with her at the hotel. Whenever she is not in the hospital she will need 24 hour care. Jeff works overnights 6 days a week and I work an 8-5, Monday through Friday job myself. In order to make sure she does have someone there 24 hours a day Jeff will have to cut back his nights and I will have to take a full leave from work for over a month.
Please understand any amount is such a great help for us. Even if it is $5. The money donated will go to copays, medical expenses and anything that may come up. Even things to keep her mind off of everything and to keep her positive. We are not looking for alot of money or to even reach the goal here, just looking for any help to make this time that much easier. Less stress = better recovery. That is my goal here, to make sure she has what she needs without having any stress. I want to be able to bring the things she likes to do home for her while she is home bound as well. Crafting, painting, movies and TV shows, books, anything to keep her hopeful, happy, healthy and occupied during the months to come.
Being her only child I want to do anything I possibly can for my Mom. Anyone who knows her also knows that she is more than happy to help anyone and throughout the years has been through an unbelievable number of health issues. Regardless of any struggle that she faced her faith in God and strength to keep her heart hopeful has always been something I looked up to. Always staying positive, not just for herself, but for everyone hurting seeing what she is going through. She still knows how to lift us up so that we can have strength to get through this time as well. I want to do more for her and show her how much everyone cares.
Please help us these next few months to get through it all. Let's help her finally give this cancer the beat down it deserves, by making sure that smile you see in all these pictures stay! Please, if you cannot afford to donate anything I completely understand. If there is something else you feel you can do to help we are all ears. Please feel free to contact me at anytime.
The money that is left over will be donated to Hodgkin's Lymphoma Research. Since she went through this 4 years ago they came up with new methods and ways to help treat and kill this cancer. We want to make sure we help with finding new ways to help others beat it as well!
I will make sure to keep everyone updated on here as much as possible on how she is doing.  Thank you for taking the time to read this. Even that means the world to us ❤❤❤
