Stella's Surgery
Hello world,
My name is Janelle. I'm a child caretaker living in San Diego and I am in love with my animal, Stella. I have had this amazing being in my life since she was 12 weeks old. Since day one, it just clicked. Her odd personality and inqusitive ways, it just makes sense we are together. She is my animal soul mate.
Stella loves all the things but mostly:
trips to dog park, playing fetch, chasing squirrels, and playing with babies (moslty to get their food or stuffed animals).
Last year, I noticed a slight limp in Stella's back leg after trips to the park. As time went on, her limp got worse. So, I brought her to the vet and was saddened to find that she had torn her back left ACL - meaning our trips to the park have come to a stop and Stella is going to need surgery, the cost of which is outside of my financial means. The surgery in total is approximately $5,000, and my hope is that we can get her the surgery before her limp affects her other back leg and we need to do surgery on both legs.
Luckily, Stella is well known at the dog park, and our friends there have recommended a top notch surgeon! This surgeon and his wife are so amazing that they'll keep Stella in their home for the time of bed rest that is needed for her recovery process :)
Since I learned that Stella was in need of surgery, I've already saved up $2,000 for the procedure. I am aware that the longer I wait, the more likely it is that Stella will need surgery on both hind legs. My hope is this page will make Stella's surgery affordable in a timely fashion to prevent her from becoming more injured.
