Thank you for visiting our campaign page. I am creating this page to ask for donations to purchase prescription formula for my daughter Stella. Many of you already know that she has a severe allergy to cow's milk, eggs, and soy.  Our insurance company will not cover her formula, even though her doctors (pediatrician, ER doctors, and two allergists) have written and sent in test results and medical notes that indicate that she needs this formula and that it is her sole source of nutrition. We have put in many claims and appeals and continue to get denied. (I put in an appeal on Thursday and was told it will be 60 days before I receive a response).  So I have turned to friends, family, and now, gofundme.
This infant formula (Elecare, an amino acid based formula) costs $55 per can via CVS.  It can also be found on amazon.com. When she turns 1 year old, she will be able to drink water--her allergists do not recommend any nut milks (i.e. almond milk) so we hope to be able to finance Elecare Jr. for ages 1 and up. It is the same price. We have been fighting this for 3 months now to no avail, and have had to neglect my hospital bills from having a C-Section in order to make sure she has the proper nourishment. The amount to raise is calculated by how much formula we would receive in a 6 month period if we were eligible for W.I.C.
