Support Stella and her Family Following Thymoma Diagnosis
Donation protected
UPDATE 7/31/2024: We are writing to provide an update on our beloved Labrador, Stella. We are grateful to share that after a thorough diagnostic process, Stella's surgery has been scheduled for September 12, 2024.
The outpouring of support and generosity from our community has been truly humbling. We are overwhelmed by the kindness and compassion shown towards our family and our girl. Your donations have brought us one step closer to affording the care she needs to get better, and we cannot thank you enough.
We remain determined to give Stella the best possible chance at a full recovery, and your continued support means the world to us. We are grateful for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity during this time.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a part of Stella's journey.
Our beloved Labrador Retriever, Stella, is more than just a pet as she is a cherished member of our family who has been with us since she was just 12 weeks old. Now 8 years old, Stella has been a constant source of love and companionship for our two young sons, who have known her gentle and friendly nature since they were born.
Stella is a smart, gentle, and obedient dog who loves meeting new people and greeting neighbors with enthusiasm. She is always eager to play fetch, walk trails, chew sticks, and cuddle with her family. She also enjoys relaxing in the shade, running in the snow, and swimming in the summer. She is an integral part of our lives, and we cannot imagine life without her.
Stella shares her home with our cat, Sophie, who was adopted to keep her company when we were away at work. The two have become reliant on one another for companionship.
Unfortunately, Stella has recently been diagnosed with thymoma, a rare tumor that affects the thymus gland. This diagnosis came as a shock to us when a heartbeat couldn’t be detected during what we thought would be a routine vaccine visit in April 2024. And we are now facing the difficult reality of having to plan for her CT scan and surgical removal of the tumor. We’ve already put approximately $5000 into the diagnostic process with x-rays, ultrasounds, aspirate cell removal, pathology, oncology and surgical consultations, etc.
We are determined to do everything we can to give her the best chance at a full recovery. Unfortunately, the cost of her ongoing care is quickly stretching us beyond our financial means on such short notice, so we are humbly turning to our community for help. We are reaching out to anyone who may be able to donate towards her medical expenses, no matter how big or small. Every donation will bring us one step closer to being able to afford the care she needs to get better and give us more time with her and her beautiful soul.
We understand that times are tough for many people right now, and we are grateful for any support you can offer. If you are unable to donate, we would be equally grateful for your thoughts and kind words as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and for considering helping our beloved dog. We are grateful for your kindness and generosity!
