My lovely assistant dog., Stella Blue
Is an Australian Shepherd. She recently stepped into the street and was hit by a speeding motorist. The impact broke the two bones in her front forearm; the ULNA
and RADIUS. Our local country vet, referred us to a specialist, and the expense of the surgery led us back and our vet attempted to splint the leg, and keep it changed every week, for 6weeks. During an appointment and while in the care of the vet assistant, was savagely attacked by a big german shepherd. She could only lie there and scream. The assistant scooped her up and immediately into surgery.
Sutured gashes healed after a week or two but when l again took her in, the splinted
Leg had not healed. No calcification no binding or changes whatsoever at the break.
I am an elder, with a disability. I live alone
In rural northern California,on a limited stipend. For many years I brought to fruition my dream of raising AUSSIES.
Every summer my home was a nursery of 7 to 10 outrageously beautiful hairy angel pups. We made many many people extremely happy and often they ll visit.
MY dogs are my life. Raz & Stella Blue are my companions, my protection, my lifeline and my reason to live. They put the chickens in at night and I as well!
The vet suggested amputation of Stella Blue s leg or euthenasia...neither is an acceptable option for this brave & wonderful little dog. I found a well respected veterinarian surgeon who will
Perform surgery but at the cost of 7 to 8
thousand dollars.
I am reaching out and fundraising to save
my lovely Stella Blue s leg so that she will again, wag her little stub of a tail, and with shining blue eyes, catch the frisbee again!
Any help would be so very appreciated.
Love and Light,
