Steinbach Needs A Proper Theatre

Hey there! We are Marc A. Moir and Laura Kathleen Turner; Co-Artistic Directors of Steinbach's professional theatre company, Looking Glass Theatre.

We absolutely love what we do, and we have been having so much fun bringing professional, live theatre to our community: Steinbach!

And we're not the only ones! Steinbach has quite a few theatre companies and performance-based groups. (Dance, improv, stand-up comedy, choirs, bands, the list goes on and on!) But... have you noticed...?

No theatre?! No dedicated space to perform. And we all desperately need one!

The performers of Steinbach have made due for years out of the high school, the Pat Porter, MHV, churches, and the Arts Council. But we need a space to call home. Let the high school be a high school, let the community centres be community centres, and let's bring a beautiful little theatre into our city, which we can all be proud of and look forward to going to on the regular.

It's time, Steinbach. This community deserves a proper theatre for all the plays, musicals, dance groups, choirs, bands, improv, and comedy that happens here. We've got the talent, we've got the audience base, and we've got the need. So, as a community, let's finally come together and make this thing happen so we can finally have what we've all been waiting for: A dedicated performance space. A proper theatre.

You donate what you can. We'll save it all here until it's time to scour the listings. We'll use these funds as a down-payment and oversee the renovations, the seating, the lighting, and everything that goes into creating a professional working theatre. Everyone's names go on a great big wall of donators!!

Then, we'll open the doors and invite you in to all of our shows, and everyone else's shows too! All performance-based groups will be able to rent for an affordable rate. Because collaboration and creating opportunities is what being part of an incredible Arts scene is all about.
