Stefa's Post-Op Care and Move to Stanford

Hi! I'm stefa marin alarcon (they/them) and I'm a first-generation brown, trans artist and cultural worker from Queens, NY raising funds for my post-operative healing and cross country journey! This next chapter of my life feels so deeply aligned with my purpose and my expansion as a person and artist and I really need your help to make it happen!

I will be receiving gender + life affirming surgery on June 11th here in New York City. I am blessed to have Medicaid pay for my surgery costs but I will still need to cover post-operative care costs as well as rent while I'm out of work. As a working performance artist and event producer, I won't be able to return to my physical work for two months as advised by my doctor.

Along with this life affirming step comes another: I have been accepted into Stanford University where I will pursue an MFA in Art Practice. This means I am also raising funds for my August 2025 relocation to California! With your help I will be able to afford the following:

Post-Operative Care Costs (incl. food, transportation, wound care materials, vitamins, teas, tinctures, acupuncture, massage): $1,300

July + August NYC Rent: $1,634

Moving Service for a 1BD Apt: $3,000

Security Deposit/1st Months Rent for Apartment in the Bay Area: $2,000

Car Shipping Costs: $1,400
