Dear friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our dear sister, Stefanie Massiah Payne, on Monday 2nd March 2026. A true sickle cell warrior, Stefanie fought with immense courage until the very end, but tragically succumbed to a severe vaso-occlusive crisis. We are still in shock and processing this profound loss.

Stefanie was deeply loved by so many people from all walks of life. She was hardworking, driven, and incredibly strong. No matter what challenges she faced, she never allowed these to dim her spirit. You would never find Stefanie feeling sorry for herself — she carried herself with quiet strength and determination. She was a bright light — not in the usual sense of someone who simply lights up a room, but a light that continued to shine through every season of life. Stefanie was one of the most resilient women we knew, and she never failed to bring laughter and joy to her friends and family.

As we process this heartbreaking loss, the family is also facing the unexpected financial burden of funeral expenses. Many have kindly asked how they can support during this difficult time.
