Update: 4/15
Stefanie remains hospitalized in Mexico, where further scans have revealed multiple lesions in her brain and lungs leading the doctors to believe she has very limited time left with us. Although she is currently intubated and unconscious, her condition has stabilized. It is urgent that we get Mimi home quickly so she can be with her loved ones. The only way back is a medivac flight from Puerto Vallarta to Eugene, costing $60,000, in addition to mounting hospital bills in Mexico that already total over $50,000 after insurance. Her continued medical expenses once back in the US are still undetermined. Medivac will take her directly to the ICU in Eugene, Oregon, where she will remain under critical care upon arrival.

We are deeply grateful for the continued support, and we ask that you please keep Stefanie in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Update: 4/13
Mimi is now in intensive care in Puerto Vallarta after experiencing seizures while attending a wedding. Scans revealed that her cancer has metastasized to her brain. In addition she has an infection that has caused inflammation and pneumonia. She is currently in a medical coma while they treat for the infection and may possibly require surgery to remove a meta that is bleeding in her brain. Any support you can give will allow her to get the care that she needs.

Earlier this year, our sister, daughter, and friend Stefanie “Mimi” LeMoigne received news that changed everything — she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of triple-negative breast cancer.

It was hard news to swallow: several tumors were found in her breast, and a biopsy confirmed that it had also reached nearby lymph nodes and a small spot in her lung.

Since her diagnosis in April, Stefanie has faced this challenge with the same courage, humor, and determination she’s shown her entire life. She recently completed her final round of chemotherapy on October 2nd, and her doctors are seeing encouraging results. Despite difficult treatments, she continues to keep her spirits high and her focus on recovery.

The Next Steps in Her Treatment

Stefanie’s journey is far from over. On November 13th, she will undergo surgery to remove one breast and the affected lymph nodes, with the goal of removing all visible cancer.

To help her recover more quickly and stay on schedule with her immunotherapy, her care team has chosen to focus on one side for now. After surgery, she’ll continue monthly immunotherapy and may also begin radiation therapy to treat any remaining cancer cells and the small lesion in her lung.

Her doctors are optimistic — and so is she. Stefanie’s strength through all of this continues to amaze everyone around her.

How You Can Help

Even with good insurance, the costs of ongoing treatments, medications, and time away from work have added up quickly. Stefanie will need several months to recover from surgery while continuing her treatments.

Our goal is to help lift some of that financial weight so she can focus fully on what matters most — healing and staying strong.

If you’re able, please consider donating to support Stefanie’s care and recovery.

If you’re not able to give financially, your love, prayers, and encouragement mean just as much. You can also reach out to one of her sisters if you’d like to help in other ways.

From Our Family

Stefanie’s positivity has been nothing short of inspiring. She continues to smile, laugh, and remind us all to be grateful for each day — even on the hardest ones.

We are so proud of her and deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and kindness from friends, family, and our community.

Thank you for standing with us — and with Mimi — as she continues this fight. Every bit of help, encouragement, and compassion truly makes a difference.
