Fund Wilfried's education and save communities

Hi, my name is Tiako Murielle Sandra, a graduate student at Princeton University. I am fundraising for Datchoua Djomatchoua Wilfried Steeve to achieve his dream of becoming hydrogeology and geothermal engineer.

Studying in a war-torn country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Datchoua Djomatchoua Wilfried Steeve has proven to be a courageous, resilient, and hard-working student who secured admission to one of the most selective universities in Switzerland, the University of Neufchâtel. Unfortunately, due to financial hardships, Wilfried could not study in France, where he was admitted to an engineering program last year.

As his sister and the only breadwinner of our family since our beloved father passed away in February 2020, I saved to afford him a quality education this academic year. Despite having to lead a very frugal life, in addition to taking care of myself, my mother, my grandmother, and my three siblings, I was only able to raise 18000$. One-half of the money helped afford the cost of living and the tuition for Wilfried's younger sister. As a result, she enrolled in a biomedical engineering master's degree program in France this month.

Unfortunately, 9000$ is insufficient to help Wilfried achieve his dream of becoming an engineer in hydrogeology and geothermal energy in Switzerland. The Swiss Immigration Services requested 20.000 Swiss Francs (21000$) as proof of funds required to grant a student visa. This fundraising project is dear to me because Wilfried carries out multiple community projects that emerged from his personal experiences studying and living in Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. "Hydrogeology and Geothermal Energy are the future, " he likes to say. Although his ambition is to fight against inequalities and discriminative access to clean water and energy in Cameroon and Congo through methods and technologies compatible with the African contexts, Wilfried knows that the first step is having access to quality education.

So far, Wilfried's quest for knowledge and genuine curiosity in his field of specialization has been asphyxiated by the lack of resources, the quasi-inexistence of hydrology and geothermal labs in Congo, the unavailability of mentorship, personal hardships and anxieties, wars, and recently Covid-19. Nevertheless, Wilfried strived and never gave up on his dreams. He participated in competitions sponsored by private and public initiatives in Congo. As a result, he was granted platforms to talk about his innovations, vision, and missions for emergent and developed Central African communities through hydrogeology and geothermal energies.

Today, Wilfried is halfway through achieving his dream as he already secured 9000$ on the 21000$ requested for his Swiss student visa to be granted. Once the 11000$ is collected, the money will be transferred to the Banque Cantonale Neuchâteloise (as recommended by the Swiss Immigration Service) in an account owned by Datchoua Djomatchoua Wilfried Steeve. This bank will produce the bank statement with a balance of 20.000 Swiss Francs (21000$). After that, Wilfried will send that document to the Swiss Immigration Service to finalize his student visa application.

Though the first day of class at the University of Neufchâtel is September 20th, 2022, NO HOPE IS LOST. Only YOUR GENEROSITY could make it happen for Wilfried.

We thank you in advance for your generous contributions.

Sincerely,

Murielle Djomatchoua
