My dear friend Jennifer Idelson and I met 12 years ago in grad school. We've both been through a lot together and have helped each other during many difficult times. I would like to continue helping her as much as possible during this particularly difficult time.
Her oldest daughter Steele Idelson was one of the injured victims of the tragic New Orleans Terrorist attack. For Jennifer, she had no idea what to expect when she arrived January 1st at the University Medical Center (UMC) in New Orleans. All she knew was that her daughter had been seriously injured .
After sixteen-days of being hospitalized, Steele was medevaced from UMC New Orleans to Fort Myers, FL. Steele has a long road to recovery.
Her mom Jennifer, a single mom to Steele and her three younger siblings, remains her primary caregiver. Because of this, Jennifer will continue to be on leave from work.
All funds will go directly to Jennifer and Steele to help pay for medical bills, continued care and treatment, and expenses for her recovery.
On behalf of Jennifer, she would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to the incredible UMC team, first responders, officers, and FBI victim specialists who supported Steele and Jennifer along the way.
They want to thank San Diego State University, the Canterbury School, their Fort Myers community of family and friends. Your love and encouragement means the world to them.
