Help Tom Beat Cancer

Quick heads up: I have an excellent support system and am optimistic about beating this. I hope to raise funds to donate to causes that help others in my position that may not have the same access to support and I will donate to lymphoma research groups.

Hey everyone - on Friday, 3/5/21, I checked myself into the ER at Mass General due to chest tightness/pain, a dry cough, and tiredness that hadn’t improved over 3-4 months of various treatments (inhalers, anti inflammatory drugs, antibiotics). That decision wasn’t an easy one to make, but ultimately was the best thing I could have done for myself.

After being tested for almost every conceivable infection (I set a new record for the number of blood labs done in one sitting at 22, I’m very proud), multiple biopsies have confirmed that I have Hodgkin lymphoma in my chest and belly area. I have been told that this is treatable and can be cured, but of course the road ahead for me will be long and difficult.
