St. Dismas House
The St. Dismas House will be a Transitional Recovery Home that will be a structured environment for individuals released from treatment centers. The focus of the house will be on recovery and developing the kinds of skills that can help someone live a happy, joyous, and free life as a contributing member to society.
The St. Dismas House only requires that the individual have the desire to live a sober lifestyle and we will help with the rest. We are very much like a step-down unit at a hospital. The residents of St. Dismas House are in the early stages of recovery but maybe not quite ready to go out on their own. Programming such as Basics of Finance, Employment, and Grief Therapy will be a regular part of their time at the house in addition to fulfilling sobriety sustaining requirements. Most individuals that relatpse do so within the first couple of months after discharge from a rehab/treatment facility. We believe that additional mechanisms that a Transitional Recovery House like the kind SDH will provide will help the individual build a solid foundation in which they can develop the coping and life skills necessary to live a sober lifestyle. A house manager will be in place to mentor, guide, and direct the residents and help them learn the principles of a healthy and spiritual life-style.
Thank you for stopping by our site and for any donation you see fit. A little goes a long way at the St. Dismas House.
