Stay-in-School Birthday Wish

Han Mitakuyap! Hi, My name is Olowan Marshall. My Lakota name is Han Wi Ojula Iwoblu Win-Full Moon Blizzard Woman. I am Sicangu Lakota (Rosebud Sioux) and am fundraising to stay in school at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM. I am a freshman and am short on tuition for Spring 2023, which begins on January 17, 2023. My 20th Birthday is also on 1/18/23. Unfortunately, I am ineligible for financial aid and have exhausted other options to help pay for this semester. My dream is to get my Bachelor of Arts from IAIA. My major is Performing Arts. After one successful semester down I can’t wait to come back and continue to be a part of the community/friends I’ve made at this school. The curriculum is so relevant to my Lakota/Dakota culture. I plan on using my education to be a voice and inspire other young Native youth to overcome obstacles and help their people through the Arts.
