Staying Strong For Sam

As most of you know Sam was diagnosed with breast cancer a week after her wedding in July of 2019. Since then she has spent the past year and a half fighting breast cancer in the most aggressive way possible.  She had thought all of the treatment and agony was over, working hard to rebuild herself and recover. On New Year’s Eve, they found out her breast cancer has not only returned, but has metastasized to her lungs.  She’s now Stage IV and will adjust again to yet another “new normal.” There is no cure for metastatic breast cancer which also means that treatment will never come to an end for Sam. There are no words to describe how devastating this news has been for Dan and Sam and everyone that loves them. 2021 was supposed to be the year they would be able to forget about cancer and finally have time to celebrate their lives as newlyweds. Now, they are back to a long road of many doctors visits, new treatments and many sleepless nights of worry.

Unfortunately, because of Sams new diagnosis and treatment plan she is unable to work and needs to focus on her health -putting all of the financial strain on Dan. Thankfully, a bulk of her medical bills are covered by Dan’s insurance, however Sam had to forfeit her life insurance through her policy. We would like to relieve some of this financial burden that has been put on them in any way possible. Considering it has only been a couple of weeks since Sams diagnosis, we are unsure of the exact cost of treatments, doctors visits and any other out of pocket costs - because of this, we have set a goal that will continue to relieve any financial stress for Sam and Dan and help with any unforeseen emergency costs.
