Hello everyone,

My name is Nakiyah Brooks, and I’m a senior nursing student at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I’m just 8 months away from earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and I couldn’t be more excited to take the final steps toward my dream of becoming a nurse.

Currently, I balance a very full and demanding schedule. I serve as a research assistant at my university, contributing to a study in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and I also work as a support person for the Autism Society. On top of that, I attend 4–5 hour classes each day and complete 8–12 hour clinical shifts at various hospitals in the area. These clinicals give me invaluable hands-on experience, working closely with nurses and providing direct patient care.

While I am wholeheartedly committed to my education and future career, the financial burden has become increasingly difficult to manage. I recently moved into my very first apartment, which has been both a milestone and a challenge. Juggling rent, bills, school, and work has caused stress to build, and at times, it feels overwhelming.

I am asking, with so much appreciation, for any support you may be able to give to help me stay afloat during this critical time. Any amount would go directly toward rent and living expenses so I can focus on passing my exams, completing my clinicals, and graduating on time.
