Hello, my name is Staven Hodge, 49, about to be 50 in July. Everything was going fine for me and my 2 fur babies until April 29th. Going to work like I always do, I was having hip pain for a few days. I thought it was from moving kegs at work. Later that evening, I started running a fever of 101.1. After being poked and prodded at the hospital, a CAT scan showed I have a neoplasm of the sigmoid colon that is 8cm in size.
Since that date, I have had a failed colonoscopy (I got sick and vomited all the stuff I was supposed to prep with) and I have been laid off from work due to my lack of mobility and the pain I am in. I have dropped several pounds, 233 on April 30th, 208 as of today, May 15th. Tomorrow, I go for my biopsy (I held the liquid down today!) and in a few days, they will be setting me up with a surgery date.
I was living paycheck to paycheck before all of this. I recently went through a divorce that set me back on bills and life, and now mix in this. It's going to be rough, as they said no matter what the biopsy says, it's a 3-4 week recovery timeframe.
What I am asking for help with is mainly rent. My monthly bills come to $1800 a month: Rent $1000, Car $425, Electric $134, Phone $40, Insurance $119.
This is not including food, meds, and cat food.
My unemployment, if they approve it, is $325 a week.
Any help would be fantastic.
Thank you for reading
