The Static: A Short Film

After a date gone wrong, Nura reaches out to her mom for comfort.

The Static is a short film written and directed by Lhiannan Sidhe set to shoot in April 2025. It follows Nura, a young woman struggling with a depressive episode and trying to find ways to cope to make it through the night. It is a film that attempts to shine a light on the struggles of mental health and the lengths people struggling go to in order to stay alive.

This will be the 5th short film Lhiannan has directed and continues to support their vision of character-driven narratives that shed light on topics such as queer perspectives, mental health, and the complexity that is the human experience.

Sydni Love, one of our Co-Producers , is an actor, filmmaker and writer in Sacramento, CA. With a passion for writing complex characters and

contributing to queer media, Sydni is a one of a kind creative

who continues to lend her talents to queer narratives.

Jordan Schudie, one of our Co-Producers, is a Special effects makeup artist and Filmmaker. They’re best known for making monsters that tell stories, mixing the fantastical with realism. They also have a passion for producing films with stories important stories that need to be told.

Sydni and Lhiannan have worked on several projects together and are excited to put their creative minds together to make our next endeavor a reality. But we need your help!

This is a micro-budget film being created and supported by many talented filmmakers in both Northern and Southern California, and we would love any help the film community and supporters would like to provide.
