Stathis home and health recovery

Kristen and Ryan are some of the kindest people I know and they have been through the “wringer“ with some extremely difficult situations over the past 3 years. One year after getting married, Ryan was diagnosed with a very rare blood disease: Severe Aplastic Anemia. This once extremely strong and active outdoorsman, entered the hospital with the unknown diagnosis and close to death. In the next two months he was in and out of the hospital and received 27 whole blood and platelet transfusions and a very painful weeklong treatment to help him kick start his bone marrow to make blood. He was unable to work for nearly a year while healing and receiving a very strong and difficult drug regimen. While starting to recover and live their lives again, a serious leak was discovered in their home and black mold was found. While the restoration company was in the process of remediation, asbestos was not properly abated and spread through out their entire house and garage, contaminating everything in their home. All their clothing, most furniture, carpeting, flooring, all appliances, the furnace and air ducts as well as most of their possessions were destroyed. They were out of their home for over a year, all the while fighting the restoration company and their insurance company seeking fair compensation. Litigation is taking place and nearly $50,000 in legal fees have piled up on top of rebuilding their home. My friends have been living in limbo far too long and I’d like to prove to them that there is still good in this world. Kristen and Ryan would like to move forward with their lives by adopting a baby and starting their family. These donations would help them start the expensive process of adoption and with costs related to their legal, medical and renovation bills from the past three years.
