Hi Im james, some of you may know me from my journey through cancer and seizures and countless doctors appointments. But today I have some news to share that's on the bright side of my life. I have been very fortunate through my life to find carpentry and woodworking as a way to relieve some of the pain that I've been through over the years. Through seizures and stress of upcoming brain surgeries. I was able to meditate and find my peace through the art of woodworking. And I have been so fortunate to be able to go to a high school that supports me along with all of you and now I am one of the top students in SECTA’s construction program. And thankfully I have been able to compete in a trades competition called skillsUSA. Where in high school I have been going since my freshman year and been given a blueprint, materials, and tools, and 8 hours to complete what they give me. Freshman year I was fortunate enough to stand on the podium as the bronze winner, sophomore year I won silver, and through a lot of work I was able to get the gold as a junior. This means that I will be able to represent the state of Nevada at the skillsUSA national competition in atlanta georgia. The only catch is that it's a little more pricey than the reno fees. So our goal is going to be set at $10000 and that will be able to cover my uniform, plane ride, hotel room, tools, and more. I thank everyone that supports me and every dollar counts no matter how small, thank you everyone and lets crush it at nationals.
