Starwood & Nexstar 2nd Annual Holiday Fundraiser
Donation protected
‘Tis the season to spread generosity and kindness!
Starwood Custom Homes and Nexstar Homes would like to provide a memorable holiday experience for 80 kids (ages 7-17), across 8 group homes, in Gilbert and Mesa.
These children have not only been placed in a group home setting, but they have also been separated from their families, belongings, and everything they know and love. They have been the victims of abuse and/or severe neglect. They are in a constant world of change and instability. With your help, we can bring joy and happiness to these children this holiday season.
As many of you know, this fundraiser is something that our CEO, Jake Simonton, holds near and dear to his heart. Jake’s involvement goes deeper than just organizing this fundraiser. He dedicates a tremendous amount of time and energy to helping these kids that were not fortunate enough to be placed in a foster home. He is there for them, spending countless hours talking and listening to these kids, building relationships, and being there for them in their time of need. He throws parties and get togethers for them at his house, and nothing makes him happier than being able to make a positive impact on their lives...no matter how big or small.
We are asking for your support by contributing to our GoFundMe.
Starwood and Nexstar is looking to raise $15,000 by December 23, 2022.
Help make this holiday season merry and bright for the young boys and girls in the Brothers and Keepers Group Homes.
A Message from Our CEO, Jake Simonton
Your donations to these kids can make a huge difference to these kids.
To all my homeowners, subcontractors, coworkers, and friends:
My wife and I have been working with the foster care system, specifically 8–19-year-olds, over the last several years. We work exclusively with the kids placed in group homes. We choose to work with group homes because it’s the worst place these kids (Typically no fault of their own) can be placed. They are not with their families or even foster care families. Without all of our help, Christmas would be nothing more than another day for them.
A little about group homes
Due to the lack of available foster care families in the state of Arizona, a lot of the kids removed from their families end up in group homes with 10 kids that have been through a ton of trauma. Unfortunately, a lot of these group homes are for-profit and do not provide more than the essentials needed for these kids. This is the last place these kids should be. (We are hoping one day to change this)
It breaks our hearts to hear their stories. Most of them are truly survivors. We love to hear their hopes and dreams. We love having them over to our house, spending time with them, and letting them know there are adults out there that do care and are rooting for them.
Donating to our GoFundMe
I am reaching out to all my friends and asking if you could take a moment and donate to our go fund me. 100 percent of this money (Plus more) will be going to these kids for Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, we will be having Santa Clause drop off presents to all these foster homes. We personally make lists with the kids, wrap the presents, and go with Santa Clause to drop them off one group home at a time.
I want to thank all that donated last year. I am so very grateful to each one of you. It was such an amazing experience to see their faces as they experienced something truly special.
Thank you again,
Jake and Roseann Simonton
