Hi everyone, my name is Syreeta Eubanks and I am a certified Ballroom Dance Instructor and owner of Bella Joy Ballroom LLC. Bella Joy was created to inspire hope and creativity in the new and experienced dancer, to provide a safe, welcoming and diverse community, and to manifest an overwhelming and exceeding sense of joy through movement.
Bella Joy offers wedding dance lessons, weekly group classes and dance parties, monthly specialty events, private lessons and competitive training for competitions. We also offer kids classes for ages 16 and under, as well as classes geared to accommodate those with physical limitations or special needs. In addition to ballroom instruction, we offer other dance styles such as Latin, Swing, Yoga, Hip Hop, Zumba, Belly Dancing, Line Dancing Salsa and more!
During the past year, my partners Melissa Scott, Michael Sims and I, have been working like busy bees getting everything into place for our biggest venture yet as a studio. After months of searching, we have finally found a permanent physical home for Bella Joy here in Fredericksburg, Virginia! The address is 101 Washington Square Plaza, suite 102A, Fredericksburg, VA 22405, conveniently located in the Ferry Farm area, a few minutes from George Washington's Boyhood home and historic downtown Fredericksburg. Drop the kids off for their dance lessons and have an hour to yourself out on the town!
Our goal is to be open and functional by January of 2022. That gives us a little over a month and a half to get everything done. So to obtain that goal, we plan to take this project on in phases.
Phase 1:
- We plan to raise funds for the initial build to get the doors open. During this phase, we will apply for building permits, as we install drywall and basic floors. This is estimated at $5,000
Phase 2:
- During this phase, we plan to improve basic flooring with springing, shock absorbent panels, for a dance floor that is competition grade and easier on the knees. We will also install mirrors, surround stereo system and a second bathroom. The cost of Phase 2 estimates to be around $60,000.
Phase 3:
- The final phase will involve the purchase of furnishings, such as a reception desk, computer monitors, chairs, tables, small exercise and stretching equipment, and therapy mats. Phase 3 is estimated roughly at $10,000.
I will be applying for a business loan, but my hope is to raise enough money through fundraising to cut down on future debt and help pay for these expenses while we begin.
Dance is about joyful community, and we ask that you share in this joy by donating to make our studio's physical location a reality.
