My name is Brennyn Seibert Nast (you might know me as Becca), and I've been accepted to law school.
As you might know, I lost my job earlier in 2025 as part of mass layoffs within my organization (and the larger media industry). What you might now know is that I have since taken the LSAT, applied to law school, and been accepted to Rutgers University.
You might not know that I first started studying for the LSAT in 2019.
You might not know that when I was young my dream was to go to law school, become an FBI agent, and then be a Supreme Court Justice.
You might not know that when I was in 6th grade I read a biography of Sandra Day O'Connor and then dressed up as her to give a presentation about her life.
You also might not see the connection between my training in educational theatre, my job in children's media, and law school, but it's a direct throughline to me: I've always wanted to help make the world better for kids. In my career I've seen the ways in which systems are failing children in their homes, their schools, and their communities. It's time for me to be part of fixing those systems.
Having lost my job, starting school now is both perfect divine timing and a huge financial hurdle. Contributions will help me pay tuition, buy my books, commute to campus, and otherwise survive a world where I am attending school and taking a huge pay cut.
I'm rebuilding in a major way, and it's a way I'm really proud of. Thank you so much for your support.
