Hi, My name is Misty - I'm a creator, animal transporter, and someone working hard to rebuild my life with heart and purpose after devastation. I am disabled as well and on Social Security Disability.
I live with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, stenosis of the spine, degenerative disc disease, and in Sept 2024 I underwent a full 360 spinal fusion on L4, L5, & S1. These conditions are why I'm on disability, but even with chronic pain, I still do everything I can to stay active, creative, and independent.
In March 2021, my trailer burned, and I had to start completely over. I've been living in a 5th-wheel RV. Summers are brutally hot, winters are freezing, and there's no real climate control. I've fallen on the stairs multiple times, and with my spine issues, this has become dangerous. I need to be on the ground level to stay safe.
Recently, I was finally able to purchased a small shed to turn into a tiny home - dream of stability, independence, and peace. For me, this tiny home isn't just a project; it's a symbol of freedom and healing, and having space that feels like mine again.
But lately, that journey has hit some rough patches.
All of my family has passed on, and I don't have anyone I can turn to for support. I've always been strong, independent, and self-reliant - the one who figures everything out, no matter how hard it gets. But the truth is, sometimes even the strongest souls reach a point where they simply need a hand to lift them back up.
I'm doing this completely alone, and I refuse to give up.
This tiny home is more than just shelter - it's my foundation for a new chapter. It's the base that will finally allow me to live safely, creating my art, continue helping animals, and spreading positive energy the way I always have. It represents healing, stability, and a life built with purpose.
I'm asking for help with a few urgent needs:
- Car Repairs: so I can stay mobile and continue doing animal transports
- Key materials for my tiny home, including the breaker box & breakers, 200 ft of 4-gauge cooper wire, sheet rock, plumbing supplies, and other essentials
- Basic costs to keep the build going, so I can move into a safe, grounded home as soon as possible
Every single bit helps - whether its a donation, a share, or even a few kind words.
Thank you for believing in people who are rebuilding their lives one piece at a time. Your support means the world to me then I can express, and it helps keep hope alive not just for me, but the animals and lives I'm able to touch along the way.
Thank you again, truly.
Much love,
Misty Rushing
