On Saturday (5/9/26) Luke and Caity Hogan's house burnt down along with most of their possessions. The family and pets are well, but they’re in need of financial support. Everyone has been desperate to help this wonderful family, so I've set this up — financial gifts are the most useful thing right now.

What happened?

For anyone hearing this for the first time: everyone is safe and well. Shadow (dog) was safely at a kennel at the time.

It started midday on Saturday the 5th of September. Their baby had just gone down for a nap and Caity was out shopping. Luke heard a crash, saw smoke, and bravely grabbed him and escaped. Fire services responded in force. The house was mostly burnt out and has since been condemned. The cause hasn't been confirmed yet.

What was saved?

Almost everything has been lost or damaged. Firefighters managed to pull out a few car loads and a trailer's worth of items, mostly from the garage. The landlord's insurance covers the building, but nothing else was covered by insurance.

What's needed?

Immediate needs like housing and storage have already been sorted, thank you to everyone who offered. The biggest need now is help covering the cost of starting again from almost nothing — clothes, furniture, appliances, and everyday essentials.

What is GoFundMe?

GoFundMe is the most widely used way to raise money for a family in a situation like this. It's free to set up, donors can give by card or digital wallet, and a small transaction fee (around 2.2% + 30c per donation) goes toward processing. Money is transferred directly to them, not to me.
