Starting a school in a rural Ugandan village
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Coco and I am speaking on behalf of Ebenezer School—A project in central Uganda aimed at bringing education to a small village without any school for local children to attend. I lived in a village adjacent to this one and was befriended by many locals, some of which were the Lubwama family. The Lubwama family were the kindest neighbors, not just to me, but to everyone they encountered. I’ve seen them give the last 1,000 shillings ($0.25) in their pockets to someone that was hungry. While digging in their garden together, they told me of their dream to start a school in this village where kids work in the gardens all day because they have no hope of education. Less than a year later we were able to lay the literal foundation of that dream. And now we are just weeks away from the beginning of a new a school year in which they hope to invite local children in as students. In order to do this, a few more things need to be paid for (license from the local gov, a water tank, some solar panels, chalkboards, seats, etc,.) With your help, we can make this dream a reality. The number one way to fight poverty is through education! Just $5 will help these kids have access to education and potentially a whole different life.
