Start up costs for house-call acupuncture in PDX
Donation protected
Hello,
I am swallowing my pride a bit here. I'm (Mackenna,) a newly licensed acupuncturist in the Portland area. I have worked very hard the last 5 years to get though grad school and start pulling together my dream of starting a practice that provides the unique service of acupuncture and Chinese medicine services in patients' homes. Thanks to the pandemic, I can now offer telehealth for some services (herbal medicine, acupressure education, lifestyle advice etc). I have started my practice and I am finding that I need a little help to stay afloat before the ball really gets rolling, and in this economy time is money.
Here is a little bit about Three Mile Acupunture & Wellness (click for website :) )
• Mission: to help reduce the gap in access to care for drug-free pain management for people who struggle to get out of their homes for treatment. This is especially important for people with mobility issues, chronic pain, new injuries such as workers comp or motor-vehicle accidents, or who face other adversities.
• This gap in access to care will be shortened even more when care can be provided as in-network with major insurances. I am in the process of becoming credentialed with major insurance companies and that can take up to 120 days (4 months) before I can start billing them for treatments.
• The company is being built in a way that there is room for growth. The eventual dream is to have a whole team of holistic providers that can be deployed to peoples homes, create pop-up clinics, etc.
How funding from this campaign will be used:
• Recovering and supplementing start up costs. This includes, and is not limited to, supplies and services such as needles, PPE, credentialing assistance, license and malpractice insurance maintenance, initial marketing and branding supplies and services, hard assets such as treatment chairs and tables, vehicle maintenance and repairs, etcetera (est $8,000)
• The time and money it takes to do accounting and administration efforts, marketing and advertising, website maintenance, creating intake forms, scheduling, learning new software for all business functions, ect. ($5,000)
• The remaining money will stay with the company to help reduce the cost of treatments for patients while I wait to become in-network with insurance providers. (est $2000)
Your time and support is received with immense gratitude, of course if you can not spare the change, sharing or hiring me are also supportive options <3
Be well,
