Start Up Cost for Black Girls United Youth Group
Hi all,
My name is Ruby Clay, Founder of Black Girl’s United. I started this group and October 2017, for black girls in the surrounding Madison areas to have a place to share their voices in a safe place to be heard. I encourage group participants to explore the personal identities, experiences with oppression and privilege, and most importantly how to live day-to-day in their bodies that are deemed as a deadly weapon in society. I also promote youth-to-youth communication, multicultural bridge building in enhancing leader ship development among young people. Our mission is simple “To engage and develop strong girls of color to positively impact our world”.
The Time is NOW for the girls to come back. together and take actions on issues that matter. We also are ready to get back to serving our community. I have created this page to ask for help in some of the start up cost for the group to operate. No amount is too small and we appreciate you greatly for contribution. Currently we are asking for support with the following;
•Food/snacks
•Guest speakers
•Material/art supplies
•Laptop
•Gloves/mask/hand sanitizer
•Teen summit/equipment needed
•Gas (to get to and from volunteer cites)
