Help to start my cancer treatments
Don protégé

My name is Samantha, I am 36 years old and a mother to to 2 girls. I have never been one to share my struggles publicly. Unfortunately, life has thrown us a real curve ball, and I am at a complete loss to what to do. I have recently been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. Due to the location of the cancerous cells, it makes treatment a little more tricky. While going through the Apts to diagnose the cancer, I started to have severe pain from my lower back all the way down to my toes. This pain gradually got worse. I now can not stand up straight, I can barely walk, and I am in pain 100% of the day no matter what I do. After a ct scan, it was discovered I have a protruding herniated disc in my spine. The only way to stop the pain is to have steroid injections in my spine, which means seeing a specialist. My husband does HVAC and works his hardest to pull the money together for my Apts, but we have 2 kids and a mortgage as well as everyday bills
and living expenses. I have no medical insurance, so I am currently applying for all kinds of financial assistance programs to help with medical bills, but that process is not quick. My Dr has made my first oncology apt for 4/3. She said it's important we figure out treatment and get started immediately. Unfortunately, most of these Apts have to be paid up front to be seen. We have paid about $1200 out of pocket already this month for Apts and medications. This does not include 2 trips to the ER or all the lab bills that have started rolling in. My first oncology apt is very expensive. So, I can not even think about scheduling an apt for the spine injections at the moment. I am scared to death of having to deal with what comes next with the cancer, but I will do what I have to in order to fight it. I can not fight this if I am constantly in debilitating pain from something else. I would really like to get the injections so that I can function and take care of myself. I don't think my mental health will servive this battle coming if I have no good days because of this physical pain. I never thought in a million years that I would reach out this way for financial help. I know the whole world is struggling right now, but if anyone can and is willing to help, I will be forever grateful. I'm hoping to just raise enough to get me in with the specialist, get my 1st injections, and help with my 1st oncology apt as well as any prescription I will need to fill. I know this is a huge ask, but I really don't know where else to turn. For those who pray, please send one up for me. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
