Start a True Colonial Brewery

The Semiquincentennial of the founding of the United States will occur in 2026 and we feel people will be very interested in a a full immersion into all things related to the Revolutionary War and life in Colonial America.  For the last eight years, I have been running interpretive programs around Colonial Brewing but am constantly asked, "Where can I buy this?"

Alas, as of now, we are producing beer for sale but I have a deep portfolio of colonial beers ready to produce.  To sell beer, however, we need to have a modern, licensed brewery.  We want to build such a facility at Brandywine and open it to the public.

This facility will serve many functions.  First of all, it will produce true Colonial Style beers, ciders, and other beverages which we will finally be able to provide to the public.  We are also planning to include tavern in which people can immerse themselves for an evening in the 18th Century enjoying food, drink, and entertainments.   Finally, we plan continue our interpretive programs on history of Colonial America with brewing demonstrations (outside the commercial brewery and using 18th Century methods) and discussions on various historical topics.
