Keith Levenson and I are producing a recording of "Winchell" the Musical by Martin Charnin (Annie) and Keith–benefitting the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health-Las Vegas. The show premiered on Broadway for a limited run in 1991 - unfortunately it was never recorded.
Keith is both a Parkinson's patient at the Cleveland Clinic and volunteer for their acclaimed music program. Upcoming budget cuts will affect all patients and caregivers, in what is already a woefully underfunded department. The Cleveland Clinic has been a life line for Keith and I. We are so excited about this project and the help we may lend.
To get this effort off the ground, Keith has created all the musical tracks in our home studio and we have covered all of the start-up expenses. We are holding outside costs to a minimum, but there are vendors and key personnel that need to be reimbursed for their work.
Keith will be in NYC next month in a studio recording vocal tracks. We already have the finished audio tracks from Sally Struthers, Roger Daltrey and F. Murray Abraham - and commitments from Darlene Love, Jon Cryer, Adrian Zmed, Angie Carballo, Kate Baldwin, Julia Murney, Michael Ceveris, Alice Cooper, Peter Green, Billy Idol and more surprise guests! There will be an ensemble of Broadway performers. A CD package and streaming options will be available in the coming months.
On a personal note, I am extremely proud of my husband Keith and where he stands today - still filled with inspiration and capable of making his dreams and work come to life. Parkinson's is no picnic and anything at all you can donate to help this worthy cause would be more than appreciated. The Cleveland Clinic rocks, let's help them continue to help so many! Many thanks - Betsy xo
