My name is Shanley Yates and my brother, Timmy Yates, my sister, Tommie Stevenson lost our mother Starla Sue (West) Van Horn, on May 21st , 2025 to her battle with lung cancer. We are trying to raise money for funeral services, final expenses, and medical bills for our mother.

Starla Sue (West) Van Horn Obituary

Starla Sue (West) Van Horn, age 64, of Luther, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

She was born April 7, 1961, to Carl and Bonita West in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Starla and Don Van Horn married in 2001.

She devoted her life to being a homemaker.

Starla was preceded in death by her husband, Don Van Horn; father, Carl West; grandma and grandpa West; grandma and grandpa Gentry; two uncles, Leon West and John West; and one nephew, Arron Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Bonita West of Kingfisher, OK; brother, Doug and Ruth West of Tecumseh, OK; sister, Genia and Ricky Smith of Davenport, OK; daughter, Tommie Stevenson of Tecumseh, OK; sons, Timmy Yates of Shawnee, OK, and Shanley Yates of Shawnee, OK; stepson, Craig Van Horn of Wewoka, OK; two uncles; four aunts; eight grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be at a later date. We will notify everyone of the time and place.
