They're also closing on their house together 2 weeks prior. YIKES!
They've done so much thinking through how to share the greatest moment of their lives with their friends and family. They're now tasked with the financial and very emotional decisions behind beginning to build a home together. Considering how much friends and family love them and wish to give towards their wedding, they've decided to sacrifice any potential gifts for donations towards the closing costs of their home. That's right, Sir J has decided to hold off on that Roomba vacuum he's been eyeing to receive a financial gift of a HOME instead. (Haha)

Closing on their new home (can be seen above) in Little Elm, TX is on Monday, May 27th. Sir J. & Maurissa would like to raise $4,000 to cover a small portion of the closing costs, allowing them to prepare the house as a hub of love for the community surrounding it.

"First off, thank you for even clicking and reading about what Maurissa and I are doing. This means so much to us. We've been challenged on our pride and lack of faith during this season of pursuing home ownership. It really took a lot for us to get comfortable with this. However, I've been encouraged by scripture and affirming words from friends who've told me "you have not because you ask not." It is a joy to know that in the future I'll look back at how we got in this position. The reminder that we are blessed because God provided, not because I am awesome or worked hard enough, is just as sweet as it is humbling. To me this home means more than just a place to live. Growing up, I never stayed in a house longer than 3 months before being evicted. This house is the start of generational stability through our family. It will be a place where friends and family can find love, and by God's grace a place where the community around it can see God's face. We speak often about being the "house on the hill" where anyone is welcome to come and feel the love of Christ. We'll also run our businesses from this house. We'll have and raise children in this house. Thank you SO much for sewing into what God is doing through us. I really did want a roomba 980 but having a home for it to clean takes precedence. Haha Love y'all!"

We're so excited that you're here! Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to read all about what we're doing. Sir J and I always talk about one day owning a home, and investing for our future family, but we did not expect an opportunity to come so quickly! As one that likes to be prepared as much as possible, this one definitely took me by surprise. After doing away with all of the doubts and fears, Sir J. and I gathered up enough faith to believe that Little Elm, TX will be our new home, and we're choosing to stand as firm as we possibly can on that. From the very beginning, we've always said that we wanted God to get the glory out of our relationship and it would be a huge blessing to have you guys be a part of our story. Thank you so much for your love, your prayers, and your contribution. Love you!
