Starfish Pack

The Starfish Pack program feeds children over the weekend throughout the school year.

In Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows, about 300 children have been identified as being in extreme need.

Every week our volunteers pack two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners, healthy snacks and two fruits into each pack. The packs full of food are delivered every Friday to each participating school throughout the entire school year.

$575 feeds one child all school year, and we are currently distributing 196 packs to 16 schools with another 6 schools on a waitlist (as we do not have the funds available to be able to include them in the program at this time).

100% of donations go to purchasing food for children in the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows school district (SD42).

Food poverty in childhood is known to impact children for the rest of their lives, ensuring children are fed is crucial for their success. The parable of the starfish captures the heart of this program: making a difference, one child at a time.
