Starbucks Partners Fired Workers Fund
Donation protected
Four trailblazing organizers at the only unionized store in Washington D.C. have been wrongfully terminated for their involvement in the Starbucks Workers United movement. We are fundraising to help them cover expenses while looking for new employment.
Once our union campaign went public, Starbucks began its union-busting. Using both carrot and stick, they tried to convince partners to vote no. After we won our vote on September 30, 2022, there was a marked change in the way our store operated and enforced policy. Things escalated this past January when our store manager was replaced with a known union buster. Our current store manager was placed in Buffalo, NY in the early days of the Starbucks Workers United campaign to harass unionizing stores. She previously worked in the District, so as the DMV gained more and more unionized stores, Starbucks brought her back to begin her tactics on us. Within a month of each other, three pro-union partners were fired for policies that were not enforced prior to unionization.
Unfortunately, this story is not unique. 237 union leaders have been unjustly fired so far during Starbucks's historically aggressive union-busting campaign. We ask that you help our workers get back on their feet and that you continue to support the Starbucks Workers United campaign as we face continued threats to our livelihood from Starbucks as we exercise our right to organize.
