This is Starbuck, a Livestock Guardian Dog (LGD). He is a Great Pyrenees, a special type of dog bred for the specific purpose of protecting livestock from predators. He has 10 acres of poorly fenced property to guard and would benefit greatly from a GPS fence due to the impracticality of installing a physical fence.
Unlike herding dogs, which control the movement of animals, LGDs are full-time members of the flock or herd they protect. They live with the animals 24/7 and form a strong bond with them, instinctively treating them as their pack.
Let’s free Starbuck to do his job more efficiently and get him a GPS collar to allow him more freedom on Tanglewood Heritage Ranch.
