Last summer my cousin, Shane Stapley came down with what appeared to be a common cold. After months of doctor visits, with his symptoms changing and getting worse, he found out that he had an infection that attacked his blood and heart and was nearly fatal. This infection led to many more appointments with specialists, who later determined that he had a heart defect. At 41 years old, Shane is now facing open heart surgery on November 4th and an estimated recovery time of (at best) 2 months. In addition to the avalanche of medical bills, from the past illness and upcoming surgery, Shane has been unable to work at times and will be unable to work during his recovery. Those of you who know Shane, know that he is a devoted husband and father of four children. Shane and his wife Amy are hard working parents doing what they can to stay afloat financially, but as most of us do from time to time, Shane and Amy need help. The beauty of GoFundMe is that small donations can have huge impact. Please consider donating and sharing this story on your Facebook page to help improve our chances of getting them the help they need.
