Stan's vets bills - savage dog attack

We are fundraising for our little puppy Jack Russell x Chihuahua called Stan, who was viciously attacked in Rodbourne, Swindon by a large out of control dangerous dog. Stan suffered a broken leg, dislocated hip and multiple bites over his body causing extensive puncture wounds and internal injuries.

He was barely alive at the scene and the only reason he wasn’t killed at the time of the attack was due to the extremely brave lady who had to put her hand in dogs mouth which was clamped down onto Stan and she managed to get it to let go of him.

Stan had to be rushed to the emergency vets and was fighting for his little life for 4 days, before being stable enough to be transferred to a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. Even with our insurance claim the vet’s bills are £9,500 and rising as he needs to have further physiotherapy and scans on his broken femur.

It doesn’t look likely that we will get any compensation from the owner of the dangerous dog. So, we are reaching out for help to pay the vets bills debt which we had to pay 50% upon his admittance to the vets and the full balance upon discharge.

We are incredibly lucky to have tiny Stan still with us and for all the neighbours who rushed out to help me and Violet during the attack.

We also wanted to make people aware and to be alert, our dogs were walking along on leads on a residential road and were set upon out of nowhere – this has left myself and Violet who is 10, traumatised and scared of walking our other dog Daisy now.

Also, please insurance your dogs for as much as you can afford! As we had insurance, but you don’t expect these costs unexpectedly and through no fault of our own.
