Stanley Ikpo Funeral Fund

Odudu Stanley Ikpo passed away on the morning of Monday, May 29, 2017. Stanley was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. To those who knew him, he was a loyal man full of joy, integrity and strength who took pride in everything that he was a part of.

In late 2016, Stanley had a string of serious illnesses that began to take over his health. After a month-long stay at Methodist Hospital in Houston, his health continued to decline. Despite the situation, he kept a smile on his face and faith in his heart. Stanley returned to the hospital two months later — this time at Ben Taub Hospital — where he eventually succumbed to his illnesses with his family by his side.

Stanley was born in Etinan, Nigeria in 1953 to Samson and Jenny Ikpo. He moved to the United States in 1976 to live out his own American dream. He later met the love of his life, Margaret Uko, and the two were wed in 1983. They had three sons together.

Stanley was a caring and dedicated family man. Above all else, however, he was a God-fearing man. He was a longtime member at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church - Gethsemane Campus , which he regarded as his second home. He participated in a number of activities throughout the church including liturgy and volunteer work at the local food bank. He was also president of the Challengers Class, an usher and led youth Sunday school classes.

For years, Staney also played an active role in Houston’s thriving Nigerian community. He was a proud and beloved member of the Akwa Ibom Association of Nigeria, USA Inc. (AKISAN), where he served both as a member and had multiple stints as an elected officer.

He leaves behind his three sons: Sampson, Cedric and Justin; four siblings and their families: Gloria, Ethel, Queenie and Silvanus; and two grandchildren: Camden and Maya. He also leaves behind an undoubtedly strong legacy throughout his home and church community.

Every penny raised during this campaign will go toward funeral-related expenses for Stanley and his family. We’d like to thank everyone in advance.

The funeral will be held on June 10th at St. Luke's United Methodist Church - Gethsemane Campus located at 6856 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77074. Visitation will begin at 9am and the service will start at 10am.
