Stanhope Pool

Stanhope Pool is a heated open air Swimming pool situated in the glorious scenery of the North Pennines in Weardale, County Durham. The pool is operated by a registered charity, having been set up as a sports association in 1974.
We are currently fundraising for a safer new slide.

We are sad to announce that we have had to remove the slide in the run-up to this year’s season. The slide that went into the shallow end of the big pool had been with us since 1997. It was becoming wobbly with sharp edges and the executive decision was made that it was beyond repair. Unfortunately, as we are currently pursuing large grant applications in order to revamp the facility, we cannot afford to replace the slide in time for the new season. We know how loved the slide was and are so sad to be facing the new season without one if you would like to give us anything towards getting a new slide before the beginning of the season it would be greatly appreciated.
