He's the favorite. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Pastor, Friend... The list goes on and on. But no matter the title, he's the favorite. To me, he's Brother Tommy. And, I'm sure to many of you reading this that's who he is too. He's the guy you call when you need help with just about anything, even if that's just needing a really big bear hug. You call Brother Tommy because he always shows up. Always. And now, it's our turn to show up for him. 

Leukemia is what they call the disease. I'm not a doctor and don't know the specifics of it, but I'm grateful that there's an amazing team of them gathered at MD Anderson who do. They have given him two options for treatment. Plan A they can do in Tulsa with a 40% survival rate or Plan B they can do a clinical trial in Houston with a 90% survival rate. He's choosing the latter, and we are choosing it with him! He and Mama Jean will have to stay in Houston for the duration of the trial.          

As you can imagine, this is not a cheap chapter in their story. But they are not writing their story alone. Right now, we are raising money to take care of their housing and living expenses for their stay in Houston. Any funds raised through this GoFundMe would cover rent, groceries, and any other need that may arise during their stay. 

At this point, there are many unknowns regarding how long the treatment will be and what it will look like. But, just as we have unknowns, we have promises. Promises that help us tackle these unknowns together. We know that Jesus heals. We know that Jesus holds our hand while we walk through healing. And we know that Jesus gave us each other, the church, to run together after healing.

It's my great honor to be part of the many standing with Tom and Jean as we beat this evil disease together.
