Dance has been my language, my passion, my work, and my life itself.

I am a New York-based Japanese artist working as a dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher. Earlier this year, while visiting Tokyo, I was diagnosed with Stage IIB breast cancer.

Because of the circumstances and timing, I was forced to immediately begin chemotherapy treatment in Japan, therefore losing many of my work opportunities in New York and struggling to maintain my professional connections there.

After further treatment followed by surgery this October, my goal is to return fully to New York to continue my medical treatment and resume my artistic career there.

As a freelance artist, the financial and physical impact of cancer treatment has become far greater than I can manage alone. In addition to medical expenses, I am facing costs related to housing, transportation between Japan and New York, and recovery time away from work.

I am creating this fundraiser to help me continue both my treatment and my life as an artist in New York.
