Hi there my name is, Vanessa. I would like to share this story with everyone on behalf of my cousin and her family.

What began as a fun snow day during our first winter storm quickly turned into a terrifying and life-changing moment for my cousin and her family.

Seven-year-old Zyan was sledding with his sister, cousins, aunt, and uncle at Ben Lomond Park—also known to many as Splash Down Water Park. On his final trip down the hill, Zyan collided with a tank of some sort, where a metal rod became lodged in the left side of his head. Thanks to all the response of the paramedics, Zyan was airlifted out and underwent emergency surgery. Thankfully the surgery was successful, now he is under close medical monitoring in the ICU. While we are grateful for his progress thus far, this has been an incredibly emotional and difficult time as the family remains focused on healing, recovery, and staying hopeful.

We are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden of medical bills, commuting, food, and any related expenses. So that my cousin and her family can focus on supporting Zyan on his journey to recovery- and back to his brave, playful, young self.
