Hi, we're Eloise and Annie and recently our attention has been drawn to the ongoing issue of violence in war towards women, particularly after reading the book "Our Bodies, Their Battlefield: What War Does to Women". All stories were shocking, and after discussing at length about this issue we decided it's vital to help these women in any way we can and raise awareness about these horrific events.

We are planning to walk a half marathon alongside our friends in London at the start of September to raise money in support of women who have survived the violence and trauma caused by Boko Haram, a terrorist group operating in northern Nigeria. Many of these women have been abducted from their families and subjected to horrific abuse.

This money will go towards a project that will help 1,000 rape victims and widows by giving them emotional support, mentoring, and practical training. They will receive counselling and guidance to help them heal from trauma, as well as learn useful skills like tailoring and cattle rearing. This will empower them to earn their own income and support their families, helping them rebuild their lives with greater confidence and independence.
