My name is Wilmine, but everyone calls me Willow. I am a mother of 3 children: a 7-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, and an almost 2-year-old boy. I was diagnosed with Scleroderma after having my first child in 2018. Scleroderma is a Chronic Autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly causes the body produce too much collagen, leading to the hardening and tightening of the skin, joints, and internal organs.

 I've gone through multiple doctors, tests, medications, and several hospital stays. It has been a rough seven years for me and my family. During this time, I have managed to work full-time as a correctional officer. Unfortunately, I had to leave the job because I could no longer physically handle the debilitating effects on my body. Currently, I am work full-time at a less demanding job.

At the end of 2025, one of my new doctors referred me to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for a bone marrow stem cell transplant. I have since begun what seems like an endless amount of testing to show I'm a good candidate for this treatment. Unlike support for many other diseases, scleroderma patients like me have very few resources for financial assistance and support. Although I do work full-time, I have missed so much work, and as much as disability is a good option, I don't have the luxury to stop working to wait for the assistance due to being a mother of three children.

Thoughts and prayers are always appreciated and welcomed, but if you are able to help a little or if you are just willing to share my fundraiser, I would be grateful. All funds that are raised will be used for housing during and after my transplant, staying afloat while I am not working due to recovery and for my family while I'm in isolation.
